Authentic 4000 square foot log cabin surrounded by 10 acres of secluded Tahoe beauty! Sunset Acres is the ideal location for a corporate retreat or a family just needing some fun time together in a gorgeous Tahoe setting! Walk, bike or snowshoe right out the back onto endless trails around the Truckee River or all the way out to the lake. This unique lodge style home features 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths and 2 additional half baths, plus a full home theater. The upstairs of the home is sectioned into 2 parts. The main "great room" section is divided into 4 areas including the gourmet kitchen, a cozy sitting area with leather couches surrounding a gas fireplace, a bar/entertainment area and a media area with 50" flat screen TV with cable, DVD and stereo. The other half of the main living level is an authentic living room great for reading, conversation or relaxing on the swing! This side of the home also has 2 bedrooms with full bathrooms - one queen downstairs and a queen in the master. The lower level of the home has a large home theater room complete with darkening shades for day time movies and plenty of couch room for the whole group! There are 2 bedrooms adjacent to this room both with 2 twin beds - a full bathroom is shared by these rooms. The home also has a washer & dryer, 3 car garage with extra parking outside, and a Tahoe experience you will never forget. 4 night summer minimum, 3 night winter minimum. Holidays may require more nights. Please no pets and no smoking. City of South Lake Tahoe VHR permit #: 003453

Staying for 3 nights. Beautiful house with lots of views in each room. Too bad there is no snow. Otherwise the backyard would be perfect for snow playing. The house is huge.

The lodge on Sunset is truly a special place. Although minutes from stateline, once you turn into the front gate you are transported into a quite sanctuary and authentic Lake Tahoe experience. Julie was very professional and the property was clean and

What an amazing home this was. I've never seen anything like it. Situated in a great location with beautiful views from every room. Very very roomy. Excellent for kids of all ages because of the acres of land to play in (no need to go to a snow park). The kids had a blast! I'm home now and still in awe. I will definitely be back. Thank you Lake Valley Properties for sharing your home with us. It was an amazing experience.

When we arrived at the property there were a few suprises. Julie told me this home had the wow factor and was she right. When we first pulled up and walked in the home we we were suprised at what an amazing and spacious home. Unfortunately the next suprise was not as great. This spectacular and beautful home did not have cable and we would not be able to watch any tv the entire stay. We were blown away that a home with a media room that has huge projector screen, multiple tvs, and a 50" tv in the living room did not have cable. Some may say this is not that important but when you are staying at a property for 4 days and wanting to spend time relaxing in the home it is. Many of my family memebers wanted to relax at home and watch college bowl games, the nfl, nba and other sports that we wanted to place bets on. It was also disppointing and dsturbing that it was stated in the description that there would be cable tv. The porperty manager Julie was fantastic and immediately tried to address the issue but the owners had cancelled the cable the day before we arrived. Other than the cable which I hope the owners provide in the future I would definitely recommend this home. If they don't I still will be renting from Julie and Lake Valley Propertied again. The customer service by Lake Vallley Properties and Julie was outstanding. It is rare nowadays to find such great service. Thank you.

Over the years, I've had great luck finding places to rent for my ski/snowboard trips, but out of all my rental experiences, the one with Julie at Lake Valley Properties was the best and most professional and the property was great overall. Sunset Acres is amazing! The long, private driveway, secludedness, spaciousness, finish and artifacts kept around from the pioneer days all contribute to the feeling that the place is more of a special retreat than just a house. My only reason for not giving a perfect overall score was that the home - in spite of being pretty awesome - suffered from a fair amount of internal noise transmission. For example, typical noises from the kitchen such as cabinets closing and footsteps on the floor were sufficiently audible in the downstairs bedrooms to be disturbing. However, with the Mack's silicon earplugs I always bring on travel, I was only woken by the noise once or twice throughout the week.

There was also something that caused a little concern at first, but was ultimately a non-issue. We could find no heating vents or elements in the downstairs bedrooms (only found space heaters). However, setting the downstairs thermostat somehow magically warmed things up by the second night and the space heaters weren't needed after that. Keeping the laundry room open may also have helped, since it seems to be the only room downstairs with a heating vent.

Finally, one more item worth mentioning is the lack of window covering throughout the entire house. Those of us that aren't early risers used either a pant leg or "princess mask" over the eyes to block the light.

Please don't take the items mentioned above to be complaints. I just wanted to provide complete, honest feedback. Again, overall, our experience with the property and with Lake Valley were great and I would highly recommend both to others.
